> Dreams of Blood
Sometimes there’s a instinct that goes off in your heart like a warning signal.

Thought I saw him there at the vigil. All those people there and I could just tell that he wasn’t supposed to be there. I stood there staring at his face for so long ─ stupified ─ but I couldn’t tell you what it looked like. That warning signal blaring in the back of my head: Danger! Danger! Danger.

And then he was in my dreams. Always out of the corner of my eye; faceless.

The half-elf Khalridge Spriggan is what the city guards call an adventurer on a good day. There to find missing pets, evidence to a cheating spouse or fetch some weird alchemy ingredient from the other side of the city. On the bad days he’s “trouble”. Those cases concern missing folks, murders and thefts in the lower part of the city. Places the guards would prefer to just sort themselves out. And incidentally, Khalridge’s place of residence.

Fifty odd years and Spriggan had thought he’d seen all the city had to offer but this last case embroils him in a death cult’s plot and the inner workings of the city’s vampires. Forced to ingratiate himself to someone he’d rather forget to help another. Khalridge’s life is thrown into more danger than ever before as even his personal mystery is drawn out concerning the man that’s haunted his dreams and the murders that should have claimed his life when he was thirteen.
